"I tried about four or five powders from different brands before trying Alder’s version. I sincerely find Alder to be the best. The powder absorbs the oils better, yet doesn’t result in matted hair. I’m able to easily ruffle and tease my hair with just my fingers. Some may find the aroma somewhat peculiar, but I personally like it. Yes, I will definitely be using Alder’s Texture Powder in the future, as I found it markedly superior to the other brands I tried." (aldernewyork.com, 2019)
"I bought this Texture Powder on a whim after reading all the positive reviews online. For a few years I've been relying on spray-on dry shampoo to stretch out the interval in-between shampoos, but knew there had to be something better (I have heavy, thick, straight hair). I'm definitely pleasantly surprised. I actually think the efficacy of one application lasts more than one day, which totally exceeds my expectations." (aldernewyork.com, 2020)
I am pleasantly surprised at this formula. My hair gets oily after a day, so I've tried millions of powders, sprays, baby powder, everything. The thing about this texture powder is that it does NOT smell like a flower bath, it works very well, and it has no heavy feeling or white residue. The scent is herbal bordering on slight anise (which i actually like) and the powder is like a greyish brown color, which probably helps with tame the white residue problem. This does not change the feeling of your hair WHATSOEVER, which is the most important thing for me. Even when you use it more than one day, it never builds up or feels gross. It just gives a little boost and absorbs oil.
I wish the applicator was a little different because a lot of powder comes out, but I managed to adjust it so that less comes out, and I have been putting it in my palms first before my scalp. Give this a try
